from the ASES
Customer Appreciation
Program
Many solar energy companies pend at least 80 percent of their time wrapped up in daily
operations, according to Pamela Cargill,
principal solar marketing consultant for
her business, Chaolysti. Understandably, this leaves little time to foster new
growth and expand business. But renewable energy is still a niche market, so it’s
important to recognize that much of
business is referral-driven.
“One of the best ways to bring in new customers is to take care of your existing customers,” Cargill said.
This seems like an obvious solution, espe-
cially for companies with limited marketing
budgets, “but it’s a major area for improve-
ment within the industry,” said Cargill. “Cus-
tomers like to have reassurance that their
installer will be there for them.”
Just as businesses should be there for their
customers, the American Solar Energy Society
(ASES) wants to be present for its members.
That’s why ASES provides a Customer Appre-
ciation Program for its professional and busi-
ness members. This program allows members
