Taco Launches Water-Heater Pumping Stations
Taco Inc. of Cranston, R. I., has launched a new family of pumping stations for a variety of solar water-heating applications.
Taco pumps combine all the features needed for a closed-loop
system and install with five connections: two for the collectors, two for the storage tank’s heat exchanger and one for
the expansion tank. Included are the integral variable-speed
solar control pump, isolation ball valves, air elimination device
and flow meter. The unit continually adjusts pump speed to
maximize solar collector output and efficiency. The unit is pre-engineered, pre-plumbed, pre-wired and easy to install. The
Solar X-Pump Block combines a stainless-steel flat-plate heat
exchanger with two bronze circulators and a solar differential
temperature control in one compact package, ideally suited
for installations where adding a solar storage tank is not feasible or where the solar storage tank does not have an internal
heat exchanger. The Variable Speed Solar Pump line includes
circulators with integral solar differential temperature controls. All wiring for power and sensors is done directly to the
circulator, while the LED status pane makes it easy to check
functionality. Dip switch settings offer easy setup. Pumps
continually adjust speed to reduce short-cycling, maximizing
solar collector output. taco-hvac.com
Preassembled System Now Has
Ground-Mount Accessory
Ready Solar of San Mateo, Calif., now
offers a ground-mount accessory for its
preassembled Solar in a Box photovoltaic
(PV) systems. The standard system is built
around a 500-watt PV module complete
with an Enphase microinverter and a rack
designed to provide a 4-inch (10-cm)
standoff from a pitched roof. Modules are
daisy-chained to get the power needed.
The new ground mount bolts directly to the
existing rack. readysolar.com
