the world turns increasingly
toward renewable solutions,
fuel-efficient vehicles will
become more efficient and
affordable. Expect to see some
of these models, as well as other
innovative automobiles, on the
market in the next few years.
Chrysler Group ENVI
Electric Vehicle Lineup
Chrysler Group’s ENVI line of
plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles
(EVs) will be available as soon as 2010,
with three more models promised by
2013. To start, the company plans to
introduce a Chrysler Town & Country
EV minivan, Dodge Circuit EV sports
car, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV and
Jeep Patriot EV. All of the cars can
travel up to 40 miles on electric power
alone, with zero fuel consumption and
zero emissions. The larger vehicles
should have a driving range of up to
400 miles, while the Dodge Circuit EV
sports car targets up to 200 miles
on a single charge. Base cost and
fuel mileage estimates are yet to be
determined.
