San Francisco Art Museum
Installs PV Array
ThinkSolar ( thinksolar-us.com) of
Oakland, Calif., in cooperation with
solar contractor Pacific Solar Energy
( pacsolarenergy.com), has completed
a turnkey roof-mounted 22-kilowatt
photovoltaic system for the San
Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The-new rooftop sculpture garden located
atop the museum’s parking garage,
features panels from SCHOTT Solar (us.
schott.com), SMA Sunny Boy inverters ( sma-america.com) and a UniRac
( unirac.com) heavy-duty rail system.
The array, completed in January and
commissioned in February, will offset
the sculpture garden’s energy demands
by 30 percent.

Oerlikon to Offer
Warranty Program
Oerlikon ( oerlikon.com), the
Swiss maker of turn-key photovoltaic manufacturing equipment,
announced in July a warranty
insurance program underwritten
by Hannover Re (hannover-re.
com). Oerlikon-equipped factories can purchase, at a very low
premium, a photovoltaic performance warranty, which will
ensure potential customers that
the system will be backed 20 years
out, regardless of the long-term
corporate fate of the vendor.
