Software Upgrade for
Blue Sky Charge Controllers
A software upgrade allows Blue Sky Energy’s SB3024i and iL models to provide both
maximum power point tracking (MPP T) and
diversion-type charge control for renewable
energy power sources. The DUO-Option upgrade
will provide for up to 20 amps diversion control.
When battery voltage reaches the charge voltage
set-point, the photovoltaic (PV) power controller
remains in MPPT mode to continue extracting
maximum PV power. To avoid overcharge current
to the battery, the unit diverts power to a useful
dump load, such as a water heater. A unit in the
field can be upgraded easily by installing a new

Sun Wize Grid- Tie Systems are now available
with the new Sanyo N Series 215-watt modules,
producing more power at a lower price than the
best-selling Sanyo BA19 200 -W packages. For
example, a 4.3-kilowatt (k W) package with 20 N
Series 215-W modules delivers 7 percent more
power and costs more than $900 less than the
comparable 4-k W package with 20 200-W BA19
modules. The packages are pre-engineered solutions shipped under a single part number, free of
freight charges and provided with permit-ready
documentation and an installation manual. In
addition to the 215-W module, packages can be
combined with UniRac SolarMount racking and
inverters from Fronius, SMA America and Xantrex.
