Bruce Haglund
Joseph McCabe
Since 2000, the American Solar Energy Society has annually
recognized outstanding longtime members by naming them
Fellows of the Society. This year, ASES proudly welcomes Bruce
Haglund and Joseph McCabe as the society’s newest fellows.
A professor of architecture at the University of Idaho for more than 25 years,
Haglund has been a pioneering educator in the field of passive solar design. As
an ASES member, Haglund has been a tireless volunteer — chairing sessions and
presenting technical papers and workshops at the annual conference, reviewing
hundreds of conference abstracts and serving on forum panels.
McCabe, vice president of business development at Ascent Solar, has served
as a board member for both ASES and the Northern California Solar Energy
Association. He has written articles for SOLAR TODAY, authored papers for
ASES conferences and serves on ASES’ Magazine Advisory Council.
