On Board Launches Integrated Charger
On Board Solutions has launched its Pro Tech-C group of battery chargers designed
for integration into commercial and outdoor products such as scissor lifts, cleaning
machines, golf carts and similar electric vehicles. Five models are compatible with all
major battery types. The Pro Tech-C is designed for use in 24- and 36-volt DC applications, housed in a compact extruded aluminum casing with global AC inputs for
worldwide use. Three selectable charge profiles offer conditioning times of 2 to 6
hours, with interlock inhibit and safeties for over-voltage, over-temperature, over-cur-rent and reverse polarity. Pro Tech-C chargers are certified to UL 1564 standards, are CE

Schüco S SPU- 4 Improves
Module Efficiency
Schüco’s multicrystalline silicon S SPU- 4
module is available in four output levels
from 165 to 180 watts, with nominal efficiency up to 13 percent at 24 volts. The
modules are packaged behind tempered glass
with a black-anodized aluminum frame,
including a cross bar for added torsional
stiffness under wind and snow loads. Two
connecting boxes on each module, with a
total of three bypass diode bridges, reduce

Fronius Extends Warranty
Fronius in May announced its Gold Quality Guarantee Program, providing the option
to extend the warranty on all 2008 Fronius
inverters an extra five years, to a total of 15
years. The plan covers both the inverter and
dealer service. It includes a paperless return
authorization tracking process keyed to the
serial number, not the owner; shipping costs
covered both ways; preshipping of replacement inverters to reduce downtime; no
exclusions for corrosion or biological infestation; and a full year’s extended warranty on
replacement equipment if the old inverter
was near the end of its warranty. Cost of the
extension is $660 for the IG2000, 2500 and
3000 series, and $910 for the IG 4000, 4500
