Sunrgi Introduces Rooftop
Concentrating PV Modules
Sunrgi, a start-up based in Reno, Nev., Silicon Valley and Los
Angeles, has designed a photovoltaic module using lenses to
focus sunlight on PV cells so as to reduce the footprint of the system. The module also incorporates a cooling system for improved
electrical efficiency.
The company claims that its Xtreme Concentrated Photovoltaics
(XCPV) system concentrates the equivalent of more than 1,600
times the sun's energy onto the world's most efficient solar cells,
enabling power production at 5 cents per kilowatt-hour in both utility-scale and small distributed installations.
“In a little more than a year we were able to develop and successfully test XCPV,” said Robert S. (Bob) Block, co-founder and Sunrgi
principal. “We expect the SUNRGI system to become available for
both on and off-grid power applications, worldwide, in 12 to 15
months.” sunrgi.com

Sunlink’s Snap-On Bracket
Saves Time in PV Installs
Sunlink’s new tilt-bracket foot snaps to its base pad, eliminating
the need to bend up to 10 securing tabs with a special tool. “This new
design eliminates a tool and, according to our research, is nearly 300
percent faster,” said Robert H.J. Miros, vice president of design.
“SunLink has made a quick process even quicker,” said installer
Adam Larner of Bass Electric. “I can see this saving me significant man-hours on every project.” sunlink.com
